Kenton Pass

Kenton has been in the construction industry for over 35 years, starting out as a carpenter’s helper, framer and rod-buster, later working for many years as an interior trim carpenter.  His building experience includes everything from custom homes to commercial structures to self-contained “Earthships.”  Formerly building  as The SawHorse Company, Kenton takes personal ownership and responsibility for every project.

With a focus on residential remodeling, Kenton places special emphasis on additions of all types, kitchen and bath remodeling, and home modifications for those clients who are planning to live in their homes into their golden years. Kenton also welcomes the selective, discriminating client wishing to collaborate on a new custom home.

As an active member in the local chapter of the National Association of Home Builders and Remodelers Council, Kenton served as Council Chairman for 2002 and is currently Council Chairman again for 2008.  He served one three-year term on the Historic Preservation Board for the City of Colorado Springs.

Kenton has proudly earned the following designations from the NAHB: Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS).  More than just fancy letters, the continuing education courses required for these designations show the level of commitment Kenton has for his business and industry. Writing articles for national trade magazines like Professional Remodeler and Contractor Magazine has give Kenton a broad platform for researching various subjects.  Currently, he is completing a book for homeowners on how to act as their own contractor for small remodeling projects.  Kenton has also given many talks and training seminars to groups of remodelers, builders and realtors on subjects ranging from estimating, construction budgets, mold prevention and marketing.

Kenton’s hobbies invariably include his seven children and seven grandchildren, as well as a little snowboarding, skiing, biking and hiking as time permits.
